Current State Analysis and Market Insight

A large Consulting Partner had developed a range of tools, but missed the process part of the requirements. We identified the gaps in the existing solutions and how best to remedy this situation.

A key requirement was the ability to respond to the rapidly changing needs.

Our remit was to work with in-house statisticians and specialists to develop Lean and Agile processes and systems to help users manage and distribute and aggregate large volumes of information. We then arranged for the analyse of the data by groups of globally distributed teams in order to create a unified understanding of their position within the emerging market place.

Our ability to get to grips with the situation quickly enabled us to develop a ‘quick’ fix, which then led to more coherent long-term work covering business intelligence management aligned with strategic and market developments.

Fast changing markets mean that, on the one hand, we needed to work with the client on detail, and, on the other hand, help the client ‘step-back’ and see the big picture and anticipate what would be needed. This led to the development of processes and systems for the market intelligence team so that they could use computer-based tools to handle complex data.

The market forecast models were developed to a very high degree of accuracy – the Financial Times noted that their market forecasting systems were ‘second to none’. We also developed processes and systems for Competitor Market Shares, Consumer Insight, Market Population and Volume Databases.

Reporting from all systems was to C-level, and was then used to help define future strategic directions and product design.
