Confidential Data Migration
The bank was migrating a software platform. The Private Client accounts had not been managed on a centralised system, and were maintained in individual files by individual Private Bankers. Some of the accounts were for very high net worth individuals and needed to be treated with the utmost confidentiality and care.
The client wanted to migrate the Private Client Group’s bank account details from individual files to an interim Excel-based system, whilst developing a more complex and robust mechanism to manage the accounts. The several thousand accounts had to be transferred over a “blackout” weekend.
We analysed the scale of the data to migrate, carried out stress tests on the servers available to estimate the timescale and capacity required, and designed a solution for this highly sensitive data which showed transactional account data for their very high net worth individuals.
We designed and implemented a new platform to hold the account data, and then also designed and implemented the transfer technology. All accounts were successfully transferred with no loss to business continuity.
