What we do

We identify the problem, gap or opportunity in partnership with the client, then we design the processes and systems to solve the problem or take advantage of the opportunity.

How we work

Totality is a group of people that use a mix of business insight and technological expertise built up over the last 20 years, to implement specialised solutions to meet specific customer needs. We will work with the customer to identify and understand the challenges being faced, and aligning closely with the existing business, will implement solutions in partnership, so that the client can ultimately can take ownership.

When we started working with Businesses and Technology, we discovered that we could provide what clients wanted relatively easily. However, the approach we then took, was quite radical, and would take some years to be accepted as a mainstream approach. We discovered that many clients wanted rapid solutions to issues that were arising in their business environment which would give them competitive advantage without unnecessarily high costs, and also be integrated easily within their own in-house teams and processes.

So we started a process of iterative problem solving and simultaneous process design and application development, which relied on minimal documentation, description or specification, but focussed always on what the business requirement was.

This approach has now become labelled as ‘Agile’ development methodology. At the same time we also developed solutions in tight-knit teams were more than one person would sit together and thrash out the solution, which has now been described as ‘Extreme’ programming and ‘Scrum’.

That is not to say that we adhere to these methodologies in any partisan way, we have also worked with Prince2, SixSigma, Lean etc.

We have a desire to find the solution, implement it quickly, measure success, and then move on.
Most importantly, however, is that we are approachable people, who are firmly grounded in the real world, and not driven by any particular trend. Hopefully a refreshing mix.
